For those of us with dogs, we're always looking at ways to reward and pamper our pets. As we've all probably learned the hard way, though, we have to be careful with how we do so - as not all foods are good for dogs.
Fortunately, we're here to offer a guide. Let's start with the healthiest foods to use when treating your dog - and then we'll look at a few you need to be careful to avoid.
First, the healthy treats:
Apple slices
Baby carrots
Broccoli
Carob (in small amounts)
Cheese & cottage cheese (provided your dog isn't lactose intolerant)
Cinnamon (in moderation)
Coconut & coconut oil
Cranberries
Eggs
Flax seed (milled or oil)
Fruit salad
Greek Yogurt & kefir
Green beans
Lean meat
Liver (in moderation)
Mint
Oatmeal (cooked)
Parsley
Pasta
Peanut butter (But only if it's a quality brand, as cheaper or mass produced brands can contain ingredients harmful to your dogs)

Lastly, be sure to avoid the following items, which are toxic to many dogs: alcohol, artificial sweeteners, avocados, chocolate, coffee, grapes, macadamia nuts, onions, raisins, yeast dough.
